LYNCHBURG, Va (WSET) — ABC 13 is proud to announce our next Community Counts partnership is with The UP Foundation in Lynchburg. For the month of September, ABC 13 will be sharing stories of the work they are doing in our community.

The UP Foundation works to make Lynchburg recovery ready for all ages and offers specialized support for youth.

The nonprofit organization helps people recover from substance use and mental health disorders. According to their site, their program provides counseling, support, and education to empower individuals and their loved ones. Staff there work to create recovery-ready communities by offering resources and tools for well-being and future success.

Some of the great work the UP Foundation does includes:

  • Offer counseling services for substance use and mental health challenges in various forms.
  • Provide positive, welcoming non-judgmental peer support environment to achieve and sustain a substance-free life.
  • Collaborate with community agencies for addiction treatment.

The UP Foundation said its mission is to provide hope, healing and recovery so you can be the best person you can be.

The Foundation offers many services to help, including counseling, recovery support, mentorship, recreational activities, and camps.
