On September 8th, 2016, The UP Foundation proudly presented a Gathr filmat the Regal River Ridge Mall Theater. From the creators of the groundbreaking film, THE ANONYMOUS PEOPLE, comes GENERATION FOUND, a powerful story about one community coming together to ignite a youth addiction recovery revolution in their hometown.      Devastated by an epidemic of addiction, Houston faced the reality of burying and locking up its young people at an alarming rate. And so in one of the largest cities in America, visionary counselors, law school dropouts, aspiring rock musicians, retired football players, oil industry executives, and church leaders came together to build the world’s largest peer-driven youth and family recovery community.     Independently filmed over the course of two years, GENERATION FOUND takes an unprecedented and intimate look at how a system of treatment centers, sober high schools, alternative peer groups, and collegiate recovery programs can exist in concert to intervene early and provide a real and tested long-term alternative to the “War on Drugs.” It is not only a deeply personal story, but one with real-world utility for communities struggling with addiction worldwide

The UP Foundation of Lynchburg VA in conjunction with Clean Life Medical from Richmond VA are presenting training on how to administer Nasal Naloxone.

Nasal Naloxone is a kit that can be administered to counteract the overdose effects of opiate overdose. It can add life saving minutes to someone who has overdosed on opiates. This allows the EMT’s time to get to the victim and continue to minister life saving aid. Naloxone kits are a valuable community resource to combat the opiate epidemic we are facing in Central Virginia.

The Nasal Naloxone Training will be held

on June 23

 From 10 am -12 pm

Addiction to alcohol and other drugs is an insidious public health crisis impacting more than 85 million Americans. The time has come to UNITE to Face Addiction at a national rally that will transform the conversation from problems to solutions for one of the most pressing issues of our time.

On October 4, 2015 a transformative event will take place in Washington, D.C. that will ignite and grow an emerging national grassroots movement to solve the addiction crisis.

UNITE To Face Addiction is being organized by an independent coalition of national, state, and local non-profit organizations to produce a collaborative and unifying event to collectively raise awareness and reduce the human and social costs of addiction.
